Company History
Emma Somerset was founded in 1969 by husband and wife team Geoffrey and Angela Cantor. Their first store opened in Manchester and still exists today, but is now one of twelve enchanting boutiques throughout the U.K. The other stores being located in Altrincham, Wilmslow, Chester, Southport, Leeds, Harrogate, Sheffield, Birmingham, Cardiff, Knightsbridge and Southampton.
In 2004 Roger Newton and David Barker became the new owners of Emma Somerset. This management buy-out has ensured that the company known for its ethos of service, style, luxury and exclusivity can continue to build on its success.
Early 2008 Emma Somerset was acquired by Stephen and Claire Buck, owners of a well establish Fashion Footwear Retailer. Emma Somerset will continue to trade as an independent fashion retail chain under the new company name ESFD Ltd, and serve its existing and future customers with high quality products and excellent customer service.
